News & updates
What has changed in the game, newest first. The game is at v0.55.0.
v0.39.0 Real artwork for Walls, Gates, Moats and buildings
29 September 2026
Walls, Gates and Moats now show real painted art instead of a placeholder icon. Walls connect into a solid line as more go up beside each other, Gates sit distinctly in the line, and Moats show flowing water that hugs the wall and bends to match its corners.
Every building now has its own painted icon on the map and throughout the game - Castle, Cathedral, Mine, Sawmill, Farm, Housing, Warehouse, Barracks, Shipyard, Wizard's Tower, Goldmine, Stables and Archery Range.
v0.38.0 Walls, Gates and Moats
28 September 2026
Build Walls to block enemy armies from crossing your land. Even your own troops can't cross a Wall - leave a Gate in the line wherever you want your own armies to pass through. Suggested by kyrakin.
Gates let your own troops through a wall line while still blocking everyone else's armies just like a Wall does.
Moats slow down any march that has to cross one. Build one alongside your walls to make the approach to your territory much slower for anyone attacking.
Sealed yourself in by mistake? An existing Wall can be converted into a Gate on the spot, and any Wall, Gate or Moat can be demolished for a partial refund of what you spent on it.
Walls and Gates can now be destroyed. An enemy can't capture a walled plot outright - they have to besiege it first, chipping away its HP over several hits, before it falls and the plot can be attacked normally.
Bordering land is revealed the moment it matters. Moving an army onto land you already own, or conquering a new plot, now immediately reveals any neighbor right next door, instead of only showing up the next time you happen to look at that part of the map.
Walls, Gates and Moats now show up on enemy land you've discovered, the same as any terrain feature - you no longer need a spymaster watching that player just to see there's a wall in your way.
v0.37.0 Zoom the island map
27 September 2026
Zoom the island map in and out. On the My Island page, scroll the mouse wheel or pinch on a touchscreen to see more or less of the island at once. Suggested by Lexenk9.
Keep zooming out and you'll reach a picture of the whole island, with a marker showing where you're looking. Drag the marker to a different spot, then zoom back in to land there.
Your zoom level is remembered on this device, and the map still pans and lets you tap a plot exactly as before at any zoom level.
v0.36.0 Knights, timers and a clearer attack warning
27 September 2026
A knight can't be given more troops than he can lead. Forming an army, adding troops, combining armies or handing over command is now refused once it would put more troops under one knight than his lead cap allows. Leave the rest in reserve, or send it as its own, unled army.
Stuck "finishing up..." timers fixed. On some phones, a countdown for a march, build or training that finished while the phone was locked or the app was in the background could get stuck reading "finishing up..." instead of refreshing. The page now catches this up properly as soon as you look at it again.
The red glow on an attacked plot is much easier to see. It's brighter, pulses harder, and no longer gets muted by the dimming used for unclaimed land.
v0.35.1 Island map centred
27 September 2026
Tidier island map. On wide screens the island map on the My Island page now sits in the middle of the page instead of hugging the left side.
v0.35.0 Painted page backgrounds
27 September 2026
Every page has its own scene. The dashboard looks out over a castle courtyard at dawn, the Market is a busy market square, the Tournaments page is a jousting field, the Royal Prison is a dark dungeon, and so on across the whole game. The sign-in pages open onto a dragon over a cliff-top castle.
Made for every screen. Wide screens show the painting in the margins on either side of the page; phones and tablets held upright get a portrait version. The text panels stay dark so everything is still easy to read.
Choose your race, see your land. On the race selection page the scene changes to a human kingdom, an orc war camp, an elven forest or a dwarven forge as you pick each race.
v0.34.2 A proper tournament bracket
27 September 2026
The bracket is now drawn as a bracket. The Tournaments page shows the knockout as a tree, one column per round from the first round to the final, with lines joining each joust to the next. Winners are highlighted, knights who lost are dimmed, and the rounds still to come are drawn ahead of time, so you can see who a knight would meet next. Your own knights are outlined, and the third-place joust sits underneath.
Byes explained. When there are fewer knights than places in the bracket, the strongest knights skip round 1 with a bye and go straight to round 2. The page now says so, and a knight with a bye already shows in round 2 before round 1 is ridden.
Results still there. Open Match results under the bracket to read the play-by-play of every joust ridden so far.
v0.34.1 Who has entered the tournament
27 September 2026
See the field. While tournament registration is open, the Tournaments page now lists every knight that has entered so far and the kingdom that sent them (with its crest), in the order they entered. Your own entries are highlighted.
v0.34.0 Tournament betting
26 September 2026
Bet on the jousts. Back a knight with gold or gems on the Tournaments page. Bet on the winner of any single joust once its round is drawn (bets close when it is ridden), or on who will win the whole tournament, from the moment the bracket is drawn until the first round.
Fixed odds. The odds come from the knights' strength and are locked in when you bet: favourites pay less, underdogs pay more (from 1.05x up to 15x). A winning bet pays your stake times the odds. A losing bet is lost.
Limits. One bet per joust and one on the tournament winner. Gold bets are 50 to 1,000 (up to 5,000 per tournament); gem bets are 1 to 5 (up to 20 per tournament). Your bets and their results are listed on the page, and you are told about every result. If a tournament is cancelled, your stakes are refunded.
v0.33.0 Friends and enemies
26 September 2026
Friends list. A new Friends page keeps a private list of players you care about: see who is online right now, which alliance each one is in, when the others were last seen, and send them mail or invite them to your alliance in one click. You can also add someone straight from their profile. Suggested by Cote.
Enemies list with notes. Keep a private list of rivals and write yourself a note about why each one is an enemy.
Both lists are private. Nobody is told when you add them. Players who hide their online status in their profile settings never show as online.
Online lights in more places. The green online light now appears next to names in your mail and on the alliance pages too (as well as chat and profiles).
Daily gift reminder. A small badge now shows on the Gems link (and the phone menu button) whenever you have not claimed your free daily gems yet.
Tidier menu. Achievements, Relics and Friends & enemies now open from your own profile page, and Tournaments has its own menu item. The Kings Table page keeps just the leaderboard.
Tournament reminders. The Tournaments link shows a badge while registration is open and none of your knights has entered. You also get an event when registration opens and when it closes.
Follow your knight round by round. Each knight in the bracket now gets a heads-up when their round is set, saying who they ride against and when it starts, and the result of every round is posted as an event.
Spymaster posts are clear. On the Dynasty page a Spymaster's post now says who they are spying on, or "Guarding the realm", instead of "Realm-wide".
Banish an heir. Any child or adult heir without a post can now be banished from the Dynasty page. They leave the dynasty for good and free a place, so a new heir can be born at the next birth - a way to try again for better stats.
Events drawer. On a computer, the live Events tab now hugs the edge of the page and slides out a full-height list below the header when you click it (click the tab again or press Esc to close). Choose the right or left edge under Live events panel in your profile settings.
Want to see it for yourself? The game is free to play in your browser.
